Before we can truly own our power, we are taken on a journey to discover what that power is. We will find ourselves in experiences, opportunities, situations and relationships that initiate us into finding out what we are here to do. For many of us at some point in our journey the question that naturally arises in our hearts, is how do we align with our purpose? Oftentimes our medicine can be something so natural that it goes unacknowledged by us. At the same time, our medicine can be something very polarizing and can often leave us feeling misunderstood. We don’t always see our medicine as a gift. Many times the exact thing we are here to embody can come with rejection, isolation and the feeling of not fitting in.
Another way to look at our medicine is what are our natural gifts? What are we authentically drawn to? When it comes to our medicine it doesn’t always show up in a way that is about creating a huge shift in the external work. It can often be that our medicine is the thing that deeply impacts the people whose lives we touch. Our medicine doesn’t always have to be something we pursue as a career. Ultimately it is about embodying our unique energy signature and just being. And from this place it can and will take on many various forms. In this class we will explore our own unique energy signatures and how we may uncover what our medicine is.
When we focus on knowing thyself that is when the magic and miracles can arrive. Other people's presence, lack of validation, judgments, projections no longer threaten our security and safety when we own our power and when we know our medicine. Owning our power is our own responsibility and our divine birthright. Deepening and cultivating our connection to Creator, clarity, courage, presence, awareness, strength, wisdom, faith and resilience is our own sacred work.
There is nothing elitist about knowing your power and your gifts. Some will project a narrative of “specialness”, pedestalling or worshipping. They will covet your gifts and your unique medicine. Others will try to get you to deny your medicine. These are extremes of the same falsehood. Being neutral means knowing everything is accessible to all who choose it.
In Knowing Your Medicine 2.0 Sukina Pilgrim will be joining us as we dive into the world of female mystics who blessed us with sacred poetry. These mystics are the often lesser acknowledged great teachers, who were clear examples of embodied wisdom and truth throughout time. These mystics truly understood what their gifts and medicine were. These women were comfortable being misunderstood because their north star was guided by something greater than their own fears and doubts. They were committed to honoring their own spark. They lived their medicine and this is apparent in their work how they carried themselves and how they walked in their everyday lives. They were the living embodiment of their authentic gifts and what they did with them.
